Following its merger and the creation of a significantly expanded development landscape, Dak Lak now brings together the strengths of the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast, providing a solid foundation for advancing high-value agriculture, marine economy, tourism, renewable energy, processing industries and logistics. These advantages position the province to realise its ambition of becoming a new growth pole for the region.

During the 2026-2031 period, Dak Lak aims to achieve average annual growth of 11-11.5%. While ambitious, this target is essential for the province to make a breakthrough in its new development phase. Rather than pursuing growth at all costs, Dak Lak is committed to a model of rapid, high-quality and sustainable development that balances economic expansion with social progress, environmental protection, and national defence and security.
In order to achieve these objectives, the province will focus on unlocking every available resource, accelerating administrative reform and further improving the investment and business environment to create the most favourable conditions for enterprises and investors. Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation have been identified as new growth drivers, accompanied by the development of high-quality human resources and the advancement of Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society.
Building on these new growth drivers, Dak Lak has identified deep processing industries as a strategic breakthrough to enhance value addition and strengthen economic competitiveness. Priority will be given to developing modern processing centres closely linked with raw-material areas and integrated logistics networks, thereby raising the value of key products involving coffee, durian, macadamia, tuna and spiny lobster while enabling deeper participation in global value chains. The provincial objective extends beyond exporting raw materials towards exporting higher value-added products together with the Dak Lak brand.
Guided by the principle that infrastructure should lead development and attract investment, Dak Lak will prioritise resources for strategic infrastructure projects with strong connectivity and broad spillover effects. These include interregional transport networks, the Tuy Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, logistics infrastructure, seaports, green industrial parks and other flagship development projects.
Concurrently, the province will fully harness the potential of the marine economy, tourism and renewable energy through a green, sustainable development approach. Equal priority will be given to poverty reduction, social welfare, development in ethnic minority communities, preservation of cultural heritage and continuous improvement of human resource quality.
Dak Lak also remains committed to building a facilitating, action-oriented administration that works alongside businesses, with the satisfaction of both citizens and investors serving as a key measure of governance effectiveness.
Backed by strong political determination, a spirit of unity and innovation, together with close partnership among businesses, investors and local communities, Dak Lak is confident of gradually realising its aspiration to become a dynamic growth pole for both the region and the nation in the years ahead.
