Amid rising demands for quality, traceability along with sustainable development, accelerating to apply high-tech solutions, supported by business partnerships, is driving efforts to advance the agricultural product value, expand export markets, as well as build Dak Lak provincial modern, competitive agricultural sector.
During the recent years, the science and technology application has been boosted across the Dak Lak provincial agricultural production chain, spanning everything from seed selection, cultivation together with processing to traceability. Consequently, numerous agricultural products have obtained both domestic coupled with international certifications.

Currently, the province has possessed 30,316 hectares of coffee cultivation holding international certifications: 23,715 hectares are 4C certified, 650 hectares under FLO Fairtrade, and 5,951 hectares under RA standards. Rice products have obtained Japan’s JAS Organic certification, while various other crops, covering a total area of nearly 20,000 hectares, have obtained VietGAP certification. In the livestock production, 18 facilities have achieved GlobalGAP coupled with disease-safety certifications. Besides, eight business-led supply chain partnerships involving approximately 500 farms have been established. Regarding aquaculture, 10 processing facilities have obtained certifications such as HACCP, ISO, and HALAL, etc. These certifications act as “green passports”, enabling Dak Lak provincial agricultural, forestry alongside aquatic products to overcome technical barriers, enhance quality transparency, as well as boost competitiveness in demanding export markets.
Dr. Bui Thi Ngoc Dung (Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design) asserts that the shift from traditional production methods to high-tech agriculture is an inevitable step toward improving production efficiency coupled with increasing both the agricultural product value and competitiveness. Simultaneously, this helps optimize resources, reduce costs, combined with adapt to climate change, paving the way for a green, modern, along side sustainable agricultural sector.

Dac Loc Seafood Co., Ltd. serves as a prime example of high-tech application in aquaculture in conjunction with seafood processing. The company employs UF filtration systems, microalgae, along with microorganisms to improve the farming environment as well as eliminate the antibiotics need; it also utilizes automated alongside semi-automated processing lines to boost productivity coupled with quality, ensuring compliance with export standards. In 2016, the company was recognized as a high-tech agricultural enterprise; in 2018, its 50-hectare aquatic breeding facility was further designated as a high-tech agricultural zone.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Director of Dac Loc Seafood Co., Ltd., stated that the company aims to partner with the province to transform Dak Lak into a hub for aquatic breeding along with high-tech marine farming. Furthermore, the company seeks to collaborate with scientists, research institutes, combined with local farmers to establish a modern, consistent production chain.
In the western region, Hung Nhon Group is investing in the DHN Dak Lak High-Tech Agricultural Complex in Ea M’droh commune. Spanning nearly 50 hectares, the project represents a total investment of nearly 1 trillion VND. The complex is designed based on a modern agricultural model incorporating advanced European livestock farming technologies, featuring automated housing systems, real-time data management, together with international-standard biosecurity controls.
With enterprises taking the lead role, supported by the State coupled with involving the local population, high-tech agriculture will generate products meeting international standards, boost value-added, as well as build a modern, sustainable agricultural sector.
