Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet inspects landslide-prone and vulnerable sites

A delegation from the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee, led by comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation, inspected disaster prevention and control, flood recovery combined with new-style rural development in Dong Xuan and Tuy An Nam communes.

At the Song Co Bridge in Dong Xuan Commune, the local authorities proposed that the province include the Song Co Bridge project in the list of urgent works and provide funding for its construction to meet travel needs and facilitate the resident evacuations during the rainy coupled with flood season. Every year during the rainy season, the bridge deck has to be dismantled, disrupting travel and affecting residents’ daily lives alongside children’s schooling.

For the road leading to Doc Dan in Long Chau Hamlet, the local authorities proposed funding for construction of an approximately 2.8-km road, with a projected total investment estimated at 5 billion VND, including 3 billion VND requested from the province. The existing unpaved road has a steep gradient and is frequently affected by landslides during the rainy season.

After inspecting the sites, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested a review and proposal to include the Song Co Bridge project in the list of works for flood as well as storm recovery in 2026. Regarding the road leading to Doc Dan, he agreed in principle to study investment in the project, focusing on landslide-prone sections and preventing soil along with rocks in the mountainside from flowing into residential areas. At the landslide site near Ha Bang Hydrological Station, local authorities must urgently review and assess the current situation while proposing an appropriate solution to prevent further landslides as well as ensure residents’ safety.

On the occasion, the working delegation visited and presented gifts to Thanh Hoa Seafood Export Processing Co., Ltd. in My Quang Nam Hamlet, Tuy An Nam Commune, a company with more than 20 years of experience in seafood processing.
